The Appalachian Regional Port, opened in 2018 and is located in Chatsworth. Its service area includes North Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and parts of Kentucky. The new inland port sits on 42 acres and features on-terminal rail. The site is adjacent to U.S. 411 and features easy access to I-75. The facility handles import, export and domestic cargo. It creates and expands international markets for regional businesses. The port has an annual capacity of 50,000 containers. A 10-year development plan will double that capacity.
