Marion Overview

Marion County is located in eastern Tennessee and home to a wide variety of industry including large nationally acclaimed companies and small family-owned industries.  Products manufactured are sold in markets all over the United States and abroad. Lodge Manufacturing is the oldest and one of the largest manufacturers in Marion. Founded in 1896, Lodge is the only maker of cast iron cookware in the United States and is still owned and operated by the Lodge family. 

Target Markets include Automotive, Healthcare and General Manufacturing.

General aviation services are available at the Marion County Airport, also known as Brown Field with a runway length of 3,498 feet.  The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, located within 35 miles of Marion County offers non-stop service to eight locations throughout the U.S.  Air cargo is also available.  Airlines serving the Chattanooga airport include: Allegiant, American Airlines, American Eagle, Delta and United Airlines.

A wide selection of community and state colleges and universities are all within a short drive. Marion County is home to the Marion County Regional Institute for Higher Education, Chattanooga State’s satellite campus in Kimball, which provides a wide range of courses that fit all lifestyles and budgets.

Marion County is served by Parkridge West Hospital, located just off Interstate 24 in Jasper.  Services include 24-hour emergency medical services, outpatient diagnostic imaging, outpatient laboratory services and outpatient physical therapy.  Family physicians and physicians of many specialties are conveniently located throughout the county as are facilities for nursing care. 

Public parks, forests, lakes, rivers and streams mean countless hours of outdoor activities. Opportunities for hiking, fishing, hunting, or just finding a picnic spot under that perfect tree are available in abundance. 

The county has direct access to I-24 with access to I-59 just south of the county line.  The Nickajack Industrial Site and Port is located just off TN Hwy. 156, only 6 miles from I-24, and has direct access to the Tennessee River. The site has over 90 acres of  land available for industrial development, all utilities are readily available, and has both river and rail access. Marion County is part of the 11-county Foreign Trade Zone 134.
